Anniversary celebration | Rim 35
An evening full of encounters, memories, and a wonderful atmosphere. Above all, it was a reminder that behind 35 years of Rim are people, relationships, and shared work.
It all began with two friends who wanted to create something new. They started Rim from scratch, with neither capital nor technical equipment. Yet in 1991, their very first chair was produced.

Important milestones
1991
Establishment of the company
Rudolf Fukal and Milan Nagy establish RIM-CZ, s.r.o., and produce their first office chair prototype, the KZ 911.
1993
A new headquarters + RIM SK
The company establishes its new headquarters in Otrokovice and founds RIM SK in the same year.
1999
RIM in Hungary
Establishment of a subsidiary in Hungary.
2002
Orgatec
The first participation at the Orgatec fair in Cologne marks the company’s breakthrough into Western European markets.
2009
Manufacturing plant + showroom
A new manufacturing plant opens in Tlumačov, together with a showroom in Otrokovice.
2012
FLEXi collection
The FLEXi office chair is introduced and goes on to become a bestseller.
2013
Branch in Asia
Rim expands its international presence by establishing an independent office in Asia.
2019
Showroom in Prague
Inauguration of a new stylish showroom in Prague, designed by Vrtiška & Žák architects.
2020
RIM CZ, a.s.
Rim becomes a joint-stock company. Martin Dorotík becomes Managing Director. This allows the founders to devote more time to the company’s long-term vision and strategic direction.
2021
30th anniversary
We celebrate our 30th anniversary, introduce a new logo and visual style and open a newly renovated showroom in Otrokovice.
2022
Soft Seating
As trends continue to evolve, our product portfolio grows along with them. Soft seating collections now represent an increasingly important part of our offer.
2024
Workspace
We are exhibiting our products for the first time at the Workspace trade fair in Paris.
2025
Sustainability
We place a strong focus on a sustainable approach to business. Selected products have independently verified Environmental Product Declarations (EPDs) and selected models are GREENGUARD Gold certified.
2026
RIM India
Establishment of a new Rim subsidiary in India.
