Meet Shela. The lightest task chair.
ORGATEC 2026
27–30 October
Cologne, Germany
Hall 8.1 | Stand D040–E041
Rim celebrates 35 years this year. The office chair has been at the heart of our work from the very beginning, and our experience in ergonomics, sustainable design and quality craftsmanship remains an important part of the brand today. Over time, however, our portfolio has expanded far beyond seating alone.
Today, we work with desks, modular systems, soft seating, acoustic and storage elements, as well as solutions that help structure and organise interiors. Our aim is not simply to add more product categories. What matters is how the individual elements work together and what role they play in the architecture of the space. This idea is reflected both in our new products and in the way we will present them this year.
The same perspective is shared by Austrian designer Kai Stania, who has been working with us for more than ten years, has designed several of our collections and is also behind the concept of this year’s ORGATEC stand.

“Furniture today plays a much greater role in the office than simply serving a functional purpose. It helps shape the atmosphere of the space and influences how people interact.
Kai Stania Designer
At ORGATEC, we will present a range of new solutions for the entire workplace interior – from a modern swivel chair to modular systems and flexible zoning elements, as well as lounge collections, new materials and upholstery options.
Each new product responds to different situations that today’s workplace needs to accommodate – individual work and shared workstations, collaboration and informal communication, changing spatial layouts, as well as places where people can slow down for a moment or work in a different way.

“"A greener office" goes beyond material choices. It is about designing interiors with longevity in mind — spaces that can evolve over time, respond naturally to changing needs, and allow their individual elements to be reused, repurposed or given a new life.
Martin Dorotík Managing Director at Rim
All these principles come together in the exhibition itself.
Kai Stania designed the stand as one continuous working interior, rather than a series of products displayed on pedestals. The individual areas move naturally from focused individual work to meetings and collaboration, and on to lounge settings and informal interaction. Products are not shown in isolation, but in the situations they were designed for.
Furniture, textiles and acoustic elements naturally define the different zones and create varying degrees of privacy, while the stand as a whole remains open and visually connected.
This year, context is key for us. We want to show not only a new desk, chair or modular system, but above all how these elements work together to shape an environment that supports focus, collaboration, meetings and natural interaction between people.
This approach naturally reflects this year’s ORGATEC theme, From Rooms to Relationships: Designing Spaces in an Ever-Changing World.

This year’s ORGATEC comes as Rim celebrates its 35th anniversary. For us, it is an opportunity not only to look back on the journey so far, but above all to show how we want to build on it.
Our new products, a broader approach to interior design, A greener office concept and the stand itself are all connected by one idea: designing around people — creating environments that can adapt to change, support natural interaction and collaboration, and make space for relationships between people.
Come and experience the new Rim in person. We look forward to seeing you in Cologne.
